During February Stacey Jose decided to take on the 30 Day Paleo Challenge. Over the 30 days this challenge focuses on changing your nutrition to eat like a cave man, this is done by not eating ANY man made products what so ever, just simply consuming all fresh: Meat, Fish, Veg, Fruit, Nuts & Seeds.

Stacey followed the plan 100% and as you can see from her picture she reaped the rewards by stripping body fat and strengthening/toning muscle, the combination of CrossFit training and the Paleo diet go hand in hand, giving you FAST and healthy results!

Stacey’s words:

“Following the Paleo diet has shown me how we should really be eating, the first week was the hardest but having the support of the group throughout the 30 days was key, we exchanged recipes and had the guidance and help of diet coach Luke which made this so much easier, I will definitely now follow this way of eating long term too as I’ve never felt so healthy, it’s given me a clear mind/helped my focus in the afternoons and of course I’m really pleased with the physical changes too as I’ve never had a 6 pack before! BATTLE OF THE BOXES

CrossFit Colchester is pleased to announce the launch of our very own CrossFit competition “Battle of the Boxes” this event is exclusive for East Anglia boxes only and will allow the winner to claim the title “Fittest CrossFit box in East Anglia”

This competition is to find out who the fittest individual CrossFit athletes are in East Anglia and collectively the fittest box too!

So if your box has 5 athletes ready to THROWDOWN and give their all to lift this mighty trophy/title then get them to step up and represent!!!

More importantly this competition is also being created to help bring our local CrossFit community closer together by not just competing against each other but also chilling out and getting to know our other local boxes around us too!

Each box will put forward their top 5 athletes (must contain a minimum of 2 women) to compete, the WOD’s for the competition will NOT be released until the morning of the event….. so make sure your team is ready for ANYTHING in true CrossFit style!!!

WOW what a start to 2013….!!!

Our CrossFit Colchester team is growing stronger and stronger every week and we’re not surprised with the incredible group atmosphere created by our team members, they are simply blowing the roof off our building every time we shout GO at the beginning of every WOD!

The best/most unique area of CrossFit is its truly incredible community, no matter what your goals weight loss, strength & conditioning or purely stress relief, you will have a  whole group of people supporting you and encouraging you to push to your limits and achieve things you never knew possible!

Here is a quote from a letter we received this week from a CrossFit Colchester member:

“Thank you to the CrossFit coaching team for all your support and help since I joined, you do not understand/know what you’ve helped me through over the last couple of months outside of fitness.

Post Burpee Mile Charity Challenge!

After the incredible support and all the kind donations in the build up to this mountain of a challenge, our coaching team took to the start line with a fierce look in their eyes and prepared for the biggest test of their lives…….

Only a few people in the world have ever completed this EPIC test, some hospitalised, others having to take days off work & most having weeks off training!!!

Our coaches gave everything they had in every rep, for every second throughout the challenge and despite having muscle strains, cut knees & bleeding hands the team completed all 4 laps of the Colchester Athletic Track (1 mile), doing the CrossFit badge proud the team even finished with an unofficial WORLD RECORD of just 45minutes…….

Carl Saville = 1hr 3mins

Sean McNamee = 1hr 12min

Jessica Johns-Green = 1hr 45mins

David Potticary = 1hr 49mins

The guys raised over £1500 for their locals charities by completing the mind blowing 6000+ Burpees (total team amount) and what did they have to say afterwards: “We had to dig deep as at times if felt like an impossible task to finish but to have all the amazing support from our CrossFit family really helped push us over the finish line so we can’t thank everyone enough for coming!”
